If you want to succeed

Our Middle School classes had a few days full of fun and seriousness.

Mrs. Weissenberger’s MVCC Business class presented to our Westmoreland Middle School students. The theme of the presentations were “If you want to Succeed Follow my Lead.” The students came up with the slogan because they want to help their peers follow the right path in life.

Topics the students focused on were: individuality, bullying, peer pressure, cliques, teamwork, and education for the future, transition from middle to high school, time management, communication,  stress management, building healthy habits and asking for help. Students, Ally Pederson and Victoria Williams, said they based their lessons on their own personal experiences and wanted to share them with their fellow peers because they’re valuable in everyday life. From all students, the message of leadership, character, and coping with challenges of today’s modern society was loud and clear.

The MVCC students had to email the teachers to confirm a date and time for their presentations to the Middle School students. They prepared an introduction for their topic, pertinent information and activities, and concluded with a debriefing session. All the students were excited to participate in the activities, and the high school students loved their enthusiasm. After their sessions, they followed up with each teacher, asked for feedback, and thanked them for allowing them to share their lessons with the students.

Overall, it was a successful and great event for the Middle and High School students and teachers!
