Tree lighting

WESTMORELAND, N.Y.- For the third year in a row, the Westmoreland Central School District in conjunction with the Westmoreland Teacher’s Association, Westmoreland Non-Instructional Union and the Westmoreland PTO will have a tree lighting on Tuesday, December 3rd, to benefit a good cause.

Last year this event was dedicated to the Michelle M. Adey Foundation, an organization that assists families whose children face serious illness. This year we have decided to dedicate the tree lighting to our PTO President, Bambi Patterson. Over the summer, Bambi was badly burned in an accident and spent weeks in Upstate University Hospital’s Clark Burn Center, recovering. As part of our Adopt-A-Charity for the first half of the year, we asked Bambi to choose where she wanted our donations to land and she chose the Clark Burn Center because they helped her so much. So proceeds from this event will go directly to the Clark Burn Center.

The festivities will kick-off at 6:00 p.m. Families will be greeted with doughnuts and hot chocolate at the Primary Elementary School. The community will have some time before the tree lighting to check out our basket raffle and buy tickets for a 50/50 raffle. The tree will light up at 6:30 p.m. and Santa is also expected to make an appearance.

Please join us on Tuesday, December 3, 2024 to support a good cause!Tree flyer
