Kristen Muir is the new social worker at the Westmoreland Central School District. Her first day with the district was December 12.
Kristen was previously employed with the New York State Office of Mental Health and was assigned to the Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy. She also served as an intern on the Bridges Council on Alcoholism at Liberty Resources.
“I was drawn to the amazing sense of community, which reminded me of my hometown,” Kristen, when asked about Westmoreland, said. “I enjoy the school setting - it’s fast paced. The kids are so much fun to work with.”
Kristen earned her Master of Social Work, with a concentration in mental health, from the University of Southern California.
In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her husband and three children. She also volunteers as a youth pastor at South Bay Chapel in Canastota.
