Angelina Deveans was named the Bulldog Bookstore “Employee of the Month” for the month of February.

Angelina, a senior, is in her second year working at the bookstore located in the Jr./Sr. High School. Business teacher Mrs. Weissenberger, who oversees the store, says Angelina is a very big part of its success.  Angelina Deveans

“Her flexibility and eagerness to please our customers is second to none,” Mrs. Weissenberger said. “She is welcoming, professional, caring and loves to keep the customers laughing! She definitely brings a positive, fun and professional atmosphere to our bookstore that is very unique to her.”

In addition to her everyday duties, Angelina dedicated her time and expertise to scheduling and managing the bookstore during the Junior High All-County Music Festival, which took place at Westmoreland Jr./Sr. High School on March 15 and 16. The event featured more than 250 students from 15 area schools.

It’s that type of challenge Angelina says makes working at the bookstore fun.

“I enjoy working with others, especially my friends,” she said. “I have also developed better people skills.”

The Bulldog Bookstore is not associated with any class. Rather, students interested in acquiring a volunteer position at the store submit an application, resume and at least two references, and are then interviewed by Mrs. Weissenberger. Students work during free periods and lunch.

The store is open Monday-Friday during school hours and sometimes during special events. There’s plenty of “green and white” to choose from. Products for sale range from t-shirts to hoodies to snacks and school supplies. All profits are invested back into the student body in the form of scholarships to graduating seniors.

After graduating from Westmoreland Jr./Sr. High School, Angelina plans on enlisting in the Navy. She is particularly interested in aviation maintenance.

Congratulations to Angelina Deveans on being named the Bulldog Bookstore “Employee of the Month” for the month of February!
