Cleopatra… Amelia Earhart… Elvis Presley… and Michael Jordan.
Historical and modern day figures were “brought to life” at the Upper Elementary School on June 18 and 19.
Mrs. Miller’s sixth grade English Language Arts (ELA) students hosted an interactive living wax museum honoring dozens of influential people from the past and present.
The museum - - for all to see - - was the culminating activity of a research project. For the assignment, each student chose an historical or modern day figure to research and then created an exhibit displaying what they learned. As part of the museum, students dressed up as their historical or modern day figures of choice alongside their exhibits. When prompted by a visitor, each student, or “figure,” verbally presented a brief biography.
The exhibits were located in the library, science lab, technology room, STEM and Zi3 rooms and downstairs hallway. They were viewed by students, teachers, family members and friends.
